Joan Webster, the principal is very involved in everything on campus. She actually hangs out in classrooms during class!

We have been to several schools and so far the teachers my children have had are wonderful. Several of the teachers have their own children attending the school. The office staff have always been very good as well.

School Demographics (US Dept. of Education)

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (October 2006) I feel this school does strive to give quality education. However, I have found some teachers using screaming more than respect to get the class quite. I also feel that principal is not respected by many of the children. He has not done a good job of explaining to the students why some things were changed, not that change is always bad. I feel many of the changes have been positive, but the children can not understand it with out an explanation.

School Demographics (US Dept. of Education)

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (February 2006) My daughter started at Los Serranos this year and I am very disappointed. I hoped that her first learning experiences would be in a creative environment where she would experience different types of learning, but she does worksheets all day long. The teacher is overwhelmed with 'English Learners' and her only goal is to have the children meet monthly benchmarks that are very basic and there is no challenge for children that already know these concepts. Unfortunately, I have been unimpressed with all aspects of this school from parent involvement to administration to office staff.

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (January 2007) I highly recommend Oak Ridge Elementary school to parents. The teachers, parents and leadership really care about all aspects of the education process. I feel my children are safe in school and on the property because of the strictness of the staff. The Principal knows my face and my children, he knows how they are doing in school and puts a huge emphasis on grades, attendance, reading programs, rewards and parent involvement. The PTSA also does an excellent job at supporting the kids, the school programs and teachers. Unlike the junior high schools in the area, where I am told parents are to stay away from the school and only get grade updates via the internet-Oak Ridge Elementary want parents to be involved and care about the kids education

Their grades exceed my expectations. They both love going to school. The teachers and Mr. Wilson are the greatest. They make learning challenging and fun for the kids. The parents at this school are so involved, it really makes a difference. The PTA is awesome and provide so much extra for the students. I am looking forward to my 2 other children to attend Rolling Ridge.

Education is the most important thing to have for their future and if they cannot handle it in Junior High how will survive as adults!

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (March 2006) I agree with one of the postings that when you walk in, there are no smiling faces , you feel like you are intruding on their time. In addition, teachers seem to only be there for their paycheck. If by chance, a student gets sent to the office, the administrators do not listen to the students side of the story. I am very upset at the way the school handles (or lack of) student discipline. I am considering pulling my child out of this school and placing him/her in a private school.

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (January 2007) I just recently graduated from Ayala High School. (2006) In my opinion, the school has become much more balanced than from what I hear it was in the past. Before, Football and other sports seemed to be the only priority to the school which was unfortunate because there really are so many wonderful programs on campus. Now, I feel the school is much more diverse and excels in a number of areas including band, choir, theater, leadership, and other various arts. The music program at Ayala has significantly grown within the last 5 years. Band and Choir are very successful and provide helpful, beneficial atmospheres for the students in every realm of learning. Ayala is truly an amazing place for you and your child. Take it from someone that explored a vast spectrum of clubs and programs while attending Ayala High School.

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (ary 2007) My daughter is a Freshman at CHHS and I'm surprise to see their classes/curriculum compare to the other high school in the area, where my oldest daughter attended. I especially like the AVID class which prepares them for college (it's a 4-year elective. They've already taken their first college visit at Pepperdine University and my daughter was very excited. She said she would like to be a tutor when she's a senior.
